What if we told you that you can find all this on the Italian coast? Exploring the Amalfi Coast, for example, is a fantastic way to get to know sunny Italy. Known for the production of Limoncello liqueur, the Amalfi Coast is where you will find the famous pastel-coloured fishing villages that seem to plunge into the turquoise sea. Steep cliffs beautifully shape this part of Italy, very popular among celebrities and considered by many to be one of the most beautiful regions in the world. As the name suggests, the Cinque Terre is a group of five towns, also distinguished by their colourful houses perched above steep cliffs. Like the Almafi Coast, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the ideal region for those who love to stroll along picturesque trails and paths, marvel at wonderful sea views or indulge in fantastic cuisine. This protected region, surrounded by hills and vineyards, combines nature and culture, in a very calm setting, where there are no cars and nature dictates the rules. Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare are the five fishing villages that make up this coastal area and each has its own charm and magic. In the past, these villages could only be reached by sea or local footpaths. Poets and painters have found their refuge and inspiration in this region – which is undeniably one of Italy’s greatest treasures – and it is easy to understand why.
